Life at PazNaz
Saturday and Sunday, June 3-4, is Faith Promise weekend.
On Saturday, June 3, at 11:30 am, there will be a Faith Promise Lunch with a focus on Cuba and the Mesoamerica region. Missionary Bob Prescott is the guest presenter. Lunch is $15 per person. Then, at 2:00 pm there will be an informational meeting about the planned Work and Witness trip to Cuba later in 2023.
On Sunday, June 4, the English PazNaz congregation will celebrate Nazarene Missions with a special Faith Promise Service at our normal worship time of 9:30 am. Bob Prescott will be speaking.
Bob Prescott served for 11 years as coordinator of partnerships for the Mesoamerica Region. He continues to connect individuals, churches, and districts in North America with unique needs and mission sites seeking multi-year relationships.
Faith Promise gifts received will be used to complete our annual commitments to the Nazarene World Evangelism Fund. All excess funds will be used for PazNaz Global Mission Initiatives such as work and witness projects, emergency needs in world areas, and to bring Nazarene missionaries to PazNaz to educate us on what God is doing around the world. COMMON TABLE
Common Table Learning Opportunities
for Session 4 begin May 31, 6:30-7:30 pm.
Voices of Faith: Same Gospel, Different Views
Led by Walker Railey | Reed Hall, Room 248
Each week we will study two popular authors with conflicting stances on today’s issues. The class will show how large the “tent” is within which Christians gather. This week: Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell & John Killinger: Three Southern Baptists with more differences than agreements.
Group Spiritual Direction
Led by Dr. Brad Strawn | Reed Hall, Room 249
Group Spiritual Direction is a practice of listening to God, through silent prayer, on behalf of one another, for the enrichment of one another’s relationship with God. Members take turns sharing with the group something from their life that God has placed on their hearts. Then the group, in silence, listens to God on their behalf. Finally, members of the group share what God has revealed to them. You don’t need previous experience with this practice to participate. All you need is a willing heart to care for your own and others’ relationships with God, a willingness to listen for God’s leading, and an openness to God and one another. Note: this is not a typical intercessory prayer group where requests are shared and individual audible prayers are offered up. Pastor Brad Strawn will provide instructions for the practice.
Women’s Wednesday Experience
Led by Joan Watkins & Cathy Cota | Gilmore Hall, South
Through the stories of many who persevered through times of testing, you’ll discover how to find joy even when life seems unfair. You’ll learn how to handle loss while glorifying God in the midst of your pain. And you’ll find the peace that comes from trusting in the One whose strength is made perfect in your weakness.
