Life at PazNaz

Patio Construction
Construction is underway on the West Patio between Lee Chapel and the Sanctuary. The project is expected to be finished by Saturday, October 25. In addition to the construction work, the new concrete slab will require one week to fully cure before foot traffic can resume in the area. In order to ensure the structural integrity of the repaired patio, the entire space between Lee Chapel and the Sanctuary will be closed to all foot traffic. If you typically park in the upper west parking lot, plan to walk or ride a golf cart to enter via the East side of campus while this project is in progress. The Cantonese worshiping community will still meet in Lee Chapel today, but will enter the chapel through Reed Hall or the Groom’s Room. ACOP will meet in Meguiar Hall this evening.

Widows’ Breakfast
PazNaz Widows’ Breakfast will be held on Friday, October 24, at 9:00 am. The group will meet at Corner Bakery located at 3807 E. Foothill Blvd., Pasadena. For more information, please contact Kathy Symons at kathysymons41@gmail.com or 626.437.8114.

Trunk or Treat
PazNaz is hosting Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 24, 6:00-8:00 pm. PazNaz needs candy donations and volunteers to decorate cars, pass out candy, and help make this event special for the kids in the community. Volunteer signups and candy donations can be made in the Sanctuary Foyer on Sundays or the church office during the week. Parking spaces for decorated cars are available on a first come, first served basis and cars must be decorated by 5:30 pm for judging. For questions or to volunteer, please contact Pastor Jasmine Brenneman at jbrenneman@paznaz.org or 626.351.2418.

Pickle Ball
La Fuente Ministries invites everyone to play pickle ball in the Gym on Tuesdays, 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Come join the fun.

Women in the Word
Join Women In The Word this Fall as Natalia Kohn Rivera teaches The Song of Solomon. This study meets on Tuesdays through November 11 at 9:15 am in Gilmore Hall. Childcare and Zoom options are available. For more information, please contact Darlene Weaver at darlenegweaver@gmail.com or 626.422.8181.

Giving Platform
PazNaz has begun the process of switching to a new online-giving platform called Pushpay. This change will let you more easily pay for things like Common Table or special events with minimal changes to your current giving process. If you have set up recurring giving, you should have already received an email asking you to confirm that you wish to continue giving to PazNaz, and your recurring giving will begin to be processed by the new giving platform. The process is only three clicks of a button. If you need extra help, contact Chenani Moncayo at 626.351.2414 or cmoncayo@paznaz.org or Joy Yap at 626.351.2417 or jyap@paznaz.org. As always, you may give to PazNaz by placing donations in the offering plates during Sunday worship, by mail, or by dropping off tithes and offerings in the church office. A new PazNaz app is also in the works and should be released sometime soon. The app will not only make giving easier, but it will also make communication about PazNaz events easier.

Lots of Christmas Presence
Led by Dr. Walker Railey | Reed Hall, 248
This four-week series will conclude on the Wednesday prior to Christ The King Sunday, which is the last Sunday of the Christian Liturgical year. After that will be the First Sunday of Advent, which is the first Sunday of the new Liturgical year. The Advent wreath is a Christian symbol marking the four weeks of Advent that lead up to Christmas. It helps believers prepare their hearts for the coming of Jesus Christ, both His birth in Bethlehem and His promised return. Every Sunday a different candle is lit, representing Hope, Peace, Joy & Love. These are the human possibilities of God’s divine presence through the Babe of Bethlehem. The more of these gifts we are willing to receive, the greater the changes Christmas will bring in each of our lives.
