Alabaster Sunday
Today is Alabaster Sunday! Twice a year, the Church of the Nazarene receives an offering to provide new buildings for missions projects and ongoing Nazarene ministries around the world. Alabaster Offering boxes are available in the foyer if you would like to participate.

Widowers’ Gathering

Ladies Night Out
Save the date for Ladies Night Out on Friday, December 5. Doors open at 5:00 pm for a silent auction and basket raffle followed at 6:00 pm by a fantastic dinner and entertainment by illusionist Johnny Ace Palmer. A free children’s Christmas celebration is available with the purchase of an adult ticket and advanced registration. Tickets go on sale in November and are $35 per person.

Gallery Doxa Art Show
Everyone is invited to the second annual Gallery Doxa art show opening on Friday, October 3, 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Gilmore Hall. The Friday opening celebration will be a chance to meet and support the artists of PazNaz, enjoy some delicious snacks, and see the God-given creativity of PazNaz/Pasadena on display. The theme of the show is Bathed in the Same Light and will include more than 40 works of art. The Gallery will also be open on Saturday, October 4, 12:00 - 2:00 pm and Sunday, October 5, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. Gallery catalogs with images of the artwork will be on sale for $20 at the gallery opening on Friday and in the PepperTree. Proceeds from the sales will go toward supporting arts ministries at PazNaz.

Patio Construction
Beginning on Monday, October 13, construction will begin on the West Patio between Lee Chapel and the Sanctuary to level sinking concrete. The project is expected to be finished by Saturday, October 25. In addition to the construction work, the new concrete slab will require one week to fully cure before foot traffic can resume in the area. In order to ensure the structural integrity of the repaired patio, the entire space between Lee Chapel and the Sanctuary will be closed. If you typically park in the upper west parking lot, plan to find a new parking place anytime you are on campus while this project is in progress. The Cantonese worshiping community will still meet in Lee Chapel on Sunday, October 19, but will enter the chapel through Reed Hall or the Groom’s Room. ACOP will meet in Meguiar Hall that evening.

Giving Platform
In the next few weeks, PazNaz will switch to a new online-giving platform. This change will let you more easily pay for things like Common Table or special events with minimal changes to your current giving process and the greatest security possible this side of Fort Knox. As always, you will be able to give to PazNaz by placing donations in the offering plates during Sunday worship, by mail, or by dropping off tithes and offerings in the church office. If you have set up recurring giving, you will receive an email asking you to confirm that you wish to continue giving to PazNaz, and your recurring giving will begin to be processed by the new giving platform with just the push of a button. More information will be coming soon, as well as opportunities to ask questions and get help transitioning to the new platform. A new PazNaz app is in the works and should be released sometime next month. The app will not only make giving easier, but it will also make communication about events at PazNaz easier.

October 1 menu: chili, cornbread, salad, and dessert

Dinner will be served 5:00-6:15 pm. The cost is $5 per person if reserved by noon on Wednesday, and $7 per person if reserved after noon on Wednesday or at the door. Any first-time guest who does not currently attend PazNaz and makes a reservation by noon on Wednesday can enjoy their dinner for free. Reservations can be made in the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings between Worship and Sunday School or by calling the church office during the week at 626.351.9631.
