In it’s proper place – that is, in Christ – power is a gift meant for flourishing. Power is a gift from God, but will be destructive outside of a relationship with the very source of power – the Great Giver of Power. If we take our understanding of power from the world, it’s bound for corruption. But when understood within the story of God, we discover power can be unleashed for the good of God’s kingdom. Throughout this lenten series, we will journey with Jesus to the cross and together discover how he stewarded power for the flourishing of God’s people.
