Not everyone is cheery for the holidays. We are living in a time underscored and seasoned with grief in many forms. The looming anxiety of living through a global pandemic, the stress of political unrest, dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with job loss, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make the joy that surrounds the Christmas season difficult and even painful for many people.
